What is Kinship Care ?

Kinship Care is a similar service to fostering. When a decision is made to take a child into care, the Kinship Care Team may look for suitable carers within the child’s family or within the family’s social network.

If a suitable placement is found, the Kinship Care Team will offer support for the carers. Kinship Care is a type of foster care, so carers from the two services may attend the same events or share resources.
